Thank you to all participants for attending this second edition of our very interactive SEEM workshop! The workshop was a success thanks to your enthusiasm, active participation (the kind we wish to see in all our own classrooms:-), insights, and experiences.
The workshop started with a brief introduction of all the participants using visual slides, and continued with a series of brief presentations to remind ourselves of the problems we face, learn how others have been solving those problems, and identify common interests.
Based on the insights gathered during the presentations, we then performed an affinity map activity to identify discussion topics.
The topics that emerged as of most interest to the participants were: Team Projects, Communication, Method, and Evaluation.
Participants were then divided into breakout groups to discuss those topics further. Here are some pictures of each of the breakout groups.

Breakout group still discussing Evaluation… a hard topic indeed:
We closed the workshop with a retrospective and identification of action items. This included:
- Continue the workshop discussions via our Google discussion group SE-EDU.
- Invite participants to summarize their SEEM paper at our blog.
- Invite participants to summarize the results of their breakout sessions at our blog or using a poster or (position) paper.
- Create a google drive for sharing files, like pictures, slides, and potentially a worksheet documenting problems and various solutions.
- How to go about next year edition of the workshop at ICSE 2019!
Finally, some of us enjoyed a well-deserved Swedish meal in a nice Gothenburg restaurant:
